Safety at Home

Have you recently been injured? After an injury occurs, it can be a slow start to get back to a normal routine. It is important to practice safety at home after an injury or surgery.  At OSC, we care about your safety in our office and at your home. We want to help prevent these accidents from occurring, furthering the injury, and/or delaying your healing time. To take all precautions below are a few tips on how to help prevent falls:

-Use a shower chair

-Put a nonslip bathmat in the shower

-Place grab bars in areas such as the shower and bathroom

-Remove small throw rugs throughout the home

-Wear proper fitting shoes when walking; slippers may increase the risk for a fall

-Remove clutter throughout the home that may interfere with walkways

-Use nightlights and keep lamps within reach to provide adequate light when walking
