Therapists

Gage Lyons, PT, DPT

Gage graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University. His clinical rotations included work in Advocate Bromenn’s Inpatient Rehab Center, Dupage Medical Group, Rush University Medical Center and Advocate Condell. Gage is FCE certified through WorkWell allowing him to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations which test an individual’s ability to work as well as the status of their occupation disability. These test parameters include strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body mechanics in relation to job demands. Gage is also certified in Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization and is an active member of APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). He has experience treating a wide variety of conditions and injuries including those affecting the neck, shoulder, spine, hip, knee and ankle. Gage has been working at the Maximum Rehab Center since 2011.

Gage lives in Clinton, Illinois with his wife, two children and two dogs. He is an avid golfer and football fan who also enjoys snorkeling and bow hunting.

Sylvia Smiser, PT

Sylvia graduated in 2003 with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. After graduation, she began her career practicing in Southern California where she is originally from. After moving back to Central Illinois, she was a therapist with Champion Fitness Physical Therapy before joining Maximum Rehab.

Sylvia has nearly 10 years experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting with extensive experience in manual therapy for all orthopedic diagnoses. She has taken several classes in manual therapy for shoulders, cervical spine, and lumbar spine. Through the years, Sylvia has had the opportunity to be a clinical instructor and teach numerous PT and PTA students from schools all over the country.

Sylvia lives in Bloomington-Normal with her husband, twins and two dogs. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, sculpting and painting.

Traci Kissinger, PT, DPT

Traci earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Bradley University. Her clinical experience is largely based in the orthopedic setting, which facilitated her passion for treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Her motivation comes from seeing patients discover true freedom as they experience a transformation of their physical health. Her professional accomplishments include graduating with honors and presenting her research findings at the American Physical Therapy Association’s national convention (2014). She is certified in Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization and is an active member of the APTA.

Traci lives in the Lexington area with her husband, Josh, and their cat, Harry. They are excited to be welcoming their first baby in February 2016. She is an avid runner and cyclist, and enjoys being outside with nature, family time, boating, gardening, painting, staying involved in her local church, and visiting her family in Michigan, where she grew up.

 

Jason Richards OTR/L, CHT

Jason attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he obtained his degree in Occupational Therapy. He worked at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center for 8 years before joining Maximum Rehab. Jason has experience in fabricating custom splints for upper extremities conditions, as well as performing evaluations and treatments for individuals of all ages. He is also a Certified Hand Therapist. Certified hand therapists specialize in treating clients with upper extremity injuries using the most advanced programs available. Clinical education experiences include Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan and Northern Michigan Hospital.

Chris Bobrosky, OTR/L

Chris graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. In 2017, he received his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin and became licensed within the same year. Chris did his clinical rotations at Renewal Rehab’s skilled nursing facilities, Aurora St. Luke’s Inpatient Rehab Center, and Dr. Li’s Orthopedic & Shoulder Center. He has obtained certification for the use of Electrotherapeutic and Thermal Physical Agent Modalities which promote healing, modulate pain, and reduce inflammation to expedite physical and functional outcomes. Chris has had experience evaluating and treating upper extremity conditions ranging from the shoulder to the hand as well as performing orthotic fabrication. His passion for Orthopedics has extended into the field of research through his published material addressing distal radius fractures.

Lyndsey Collins, PTA

Lyndsey attended Springfield’s Lincoln Land Community College where she obtained her associates degree in applied sciences as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She worked for Advocate Bromenn gaining experience in their outpatient, inpatient, home health, and stroke rehabilitation areas. Lyndsey has been with Dr. Li’s team since 2004.  Lyndsey is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor who has helped to teach many students in the area. She has taken many additional classes including those on Myofascial Release techniques and Functional Strengthening. Lyndsey is certified in work conditioning and in Graston Soft Tissue techniques that are designed to help reduce restrictive tissue. She has also done additional coursework with a focus on treatment of the shoulder.

McCrae Holly, PTA

McCrae received her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Illinois Central College in 1995. Her experience includes extensive outpatient rehab work for OSF St. Francis and Memorial Medical Center. McCrae joined Dr. Li’s team in 2004. She has taken courses in McKenzie Part A, Myofascial Release and Kinesiotaping. She is certified in Graston Technique and Work Conditioning. McCrae lives in Hudson, Illinois with her husband and three children. She enjoys photography and painting in her free time.

In 2011, Erica obtained her Associate degree in Applied Science upon completion of the physical therapist assistant program at Illinois Central College in Peoria, IL. Since then, her physical therapy experience includes nearly ten years at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL in a primarily outpatient-based setting, but which involved some inpatient and aquatic physical therapy as well. Erica came on staff with Dr. Li’s team in 2021. She is grateful for the opportunity to work at the Orthopedic & Shoulder Center, and to serve patients in the field of outpatient orthopedics. Erica considers it a privilege to assist each patient in working toward their rehabilitation goals.

Sarah Hartzold, OPTA

Sarah graduated from Heartland Community College in 2020 with her Associates in Applied Science. While in this program, clinical rotations included work at OSF acute care and Carle-Mahomet outpatient. In these settings, Sarah discovered her passion for helping those with musculoskeletal conditions. This pushed her to pursue a specialty in Orthopedics and she has been working full time at Orthopedic & Shoulder Center since 2021. Through Next Gen Institution, Sarah became an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant in 2022. Sarah lives in Bloomington-Normal with her husband, daughter and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys numerous outdoor activities including hiking and kayaking.

Zoe Walton, PTA

Zoe WaltonZoe graduated from Lake Land Community College in 2023 with an Associates in Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She is continuing her education and working towards attaining a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. Zoe is excited about continuing to advance her knowledge in physical therapy and to provide the best care to her patients! In her spare time, she enjoys painting, working out, and reading.

Mary Young, COTA-L

Mary received her Associates Degree from Illinois Central College in Applied Science as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in 2014. She gained 4 years of experience at HCR ManorCare of Riverview in East Peoria with cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and orthopedic rehabilitation. She is the mother of four children and lives in Mackinaw. She enjoys spending time with family and friends when she can, and in her spare time when the weather permits, she either relaxes by the pool, or floats in the river in her kayak or canoe.

Abbie Ummel, COTA-L

Abbie UmmelAbbie attended Parkland College where she obtained an Associates in Applied Sciences as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She spent the last 13 years of her career working at OSF in acute care and outpatient, specializing in neurological rehabilitation. She is excited to broaden her skills with Dr. Li and his team! Abbie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Greg, and their yellow lab, Jovie.

Stacey Cutting, OTC

Stacey is a graduate of Eureka College with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine. She has worked for Dr. Li since 2001. Stacey received her Orthopedic Technologist Certification in 2005.   Stacey is happily married to her husband Craig Cutting since 2001 and has two wonderfully awesome children, Haley (2004), and Piper (2011).   As a family they love to watch sports and are avid Green Bay Packers fans.

Jackie Wieduwilt

Jackie graduated from Illinois State University 2000 with a Master’s degree in Athletic Training and received her Bachelor of Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University 1999. She is happily married to Andy Wieduwilt since 2000 with two children, Jarrett (2004) and Makayla (2006).  Jackie enjoys watching her kids compete in a variety of sports and is an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan as she grew up in the St. Louis area.

Ken Meisner

Ken graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He has over 22 years of orthopedic experience ranging from clinical and therapy settings. He brings vast experience and knowledge with Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultra Sound and Orthobiologics to our clinic. MSK Ultra Sound allows dynamic evaluation of patients and improves accuracy for injections.

Prior to coming to Orthopedic & Shoulder Center, Ken was Director of Therapy and Clinical Services at Panhandle Orthopedics in Florida. He has taken many classes and certifications over the years including Cadwell Advanced Nerve Conduction Studies, JTech Isotrack Physical Performance testing, The Back School of for Ergonomics Assessment, MedX Spinal Training Program, Sports Metrics and body Balance.

Ken lives in Bloomington with his beautiful wife Brandi and children Maci (2009), Lexi (2012), and Ryker (2015). He also has a son Clayton (1995) who is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. In his spare time, you might see Ken throughout central Illinois working as a Licensed IHSA Basketball Official or cheering on his University of Florida Gators. Go Gators!

Radiology

Meta Canales RT(R)

Meta graduated from Heartland Community College’s Radiography Program in 2021 with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences. She became interested in Orthopedics while in school and is thrilled to be part of Dr. Li’s Team. Meta grew up in Bloomington and now resides in Farmer City with her husband, Kolton, and her dog, Scotty. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to true crime podcasts, shopping, sleeping in, and traveling to new states.
Tara Adams, RT R MR

Tara graduated from the Parkland College Radiology Program in 1998 with an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences. Although she has done some x-ray and CT scanning, most of her career has been spent performing MRI scans. She has over twelve years of MRI experience and received her MRI Certification in March 2010. Tara lives in Bloomington-Normal with her husband, son and twin daughters. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking/baking.
