Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Lawrence Li provides patients with comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services for a wide range of orthopedic conditions at his practice in Bloomington Normal, Illinois.
Dr. Li has been performing arthroscopic shoulder surgery for over 20 years during which advances in shoulder procedures have been revolutionary leading to less invasion and faster recoveries. He performs rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, instability procedures, subacromial decompressions, AC joint resections and adhesive capsulitis releases with only minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques 100% of the time. The outcome is superior and recovery time is much less compared with the traditional open shoulder surgeries.
Dr. Li completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before graduating with his medical degree from the University of Rochester. After finishing his degree, Dr. Li completed an internship in General Surgery and residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Ohio State University Hospitals, where he gained the extensive skills and knowledge to provide patients with state-of-the-art orthopedic care.
Throughout his extensive experience, Dr. Li has been appointed to a number of positions, such as Chairman of Orthopedics at St. Joseph Medical Center, Vice President of Ireland Grove Center for Surgery, Orthopedic Consultant for 3M® Corporation and as a faculty member of Illinois State University. Dr. Li has served as the Physician for many area sports teams and organizations, including Millikin University, Illinois State University, Central Catholic High School and Extra Innings. He is a member of the Education Council at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

David Freeman is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has specialized in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine since 1997. He is a native of Bloomington Normal and is a graduate of Normal Community High School. He served in the Marine Corps prior to attending Illinois State University where he received his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training. He completed his Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University and then completed an Orthopedic internship at the Shoulder Knee Institute in San Diego and participated in the care of professional and collegiate athletes. David practiced Orthopedic and Sports medicine for 7 years as a Physician Assistant in the Champaign Urbana area prior to joining Dr. Lawrence Li and he will continue to provide outstanding care to patients for their orthopedic problems.
Gage recently graduated from Millikin University with his Bachelor's degree in Biology. He obtained his Physical Therapy degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. His clinical rotations included work in Advocate Bromenn’s Inpatient Rehab Center, Dupage Medical Group, and Advocate Condell.
Letitia is a certified Physical Therapist who received her Undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of Miami in Coral Bales, Florida. She worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the University of Miami National Champion Football Team and the Purdue University National Champion Women’s Basketball team as well as working with the Women’s Soccer Summer Olympics. She is certified in Sole Support Orthotic Fabrication and has been employed with OSMC since 2009.
Kim attended the University of Illinois where she obtained her degree in Psychology. She went on to graduate from Colorado State University where she earned her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy. Kim’s experience includes over 4½ years of rehabilitation work for the #1 ranked rehab hospital in the country, Rehab Institute of Chicago. She is also a Certified Hand Therapist. Kim has shared her knowledge on spinal cord injuries through courses to other therapists in the business.
Lyndsey attended Springfield’s Lincoln Land Community College where she obtained her associates degree in applied sciences as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She worked for Advocate Bromenn gaining experience in their outpatient, inpatient, home health, and stroke rehabilitation areas. She was a valuable OSMC employee for over 7 years.
Lyndsey is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor who has helped to teach many students in the area. She has taken many additional classes including those on Myofascial Release techniques and Functional Strengthening. Lyndsey is certified in work conditioning.
Jaime earned her Applied Sciences degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois. She was an Advanced Rehab employee for over 4 years before joining OSMC in 2004. Jaime has taken numerous classes through The McKenzie Institute on how to treat back and neck issues as well as other classes on Myofascial Release techniques and Sacroiliac Joint pain. She is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor as well.
McCrae received her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Illinois Central College in 1995. Her experience includes extensive outpatient rehab work for OSF St Francis and Memorial Medical Center. McCrae has 7 years of service at OSMC and has taken numerous classes on kinesiotaping. McCrae is certified in Work Conditioning.
Stacey is a graduate of Eureka College with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine. She interned with Midwest Orthopedics and has been employed with Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center for over 10 years. Stacey received her Orthopedic Technologist Certification in 2005.
Jackie received her Bachelor of Science from Nebraska Wesleyan in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with an emphasis in Athletic Training and her Master of Science from Illinois State University in Kinesiology. As a certified Athletic Trainer, she worked with Dr. Lawrence Nord and Dr. Brett Keller at Neuro Ortho Rehab Center/Central Illinois Orthopedic Surgery. She joined Dr Li over a year ago.
Lara received her Certified Radiology Technologist Certification in 1993 from the Division of Nuclear Safety after graduating from the Bloomington Normal school of Radiology. She has worked previously for OSF St Joseph Medical Center as well as OSMC.
